About Thymosin Alpha-1
What is Thymosin Alpha-1?
Overview
What is Thymosin Alpha-1?
Thymosin Alpha-1 is a 28-residue N-acetylated peptide originally isolated from thymic tissue, where it forms part of the thymosin fraction 5 preparation. It is supplied as a lyophilised powder in sealed vials, boxed in tens, for laboratory research use only.

These are catalogue target specifications, not batch results. The 99%+ purity figure is the specification we buy to. The authoritative figures for any particular box are the ones printed on that box’s Certificate of Analysis, which is lot-specific. What research grade actually means explains the difference. Terms such as HPLC purity and net peptide content are explained in the peptide glossary.
We make no “third-party verified” claim for a batch unless the matching report is supplied with it. Ask for the current COA for the lot in stock before you order — we will send it.

Storage & reconstitution
Handling
How should Thymosin Alpha-1 be stored and reconstituted?
Sealed vials tolerate ambient temperature in transit and keep at −20 °C beyond that. Reconstitute slowly down the vial wall, swirl rather than shake, then refrigerate at 2–8 °C and aliquot before freezing.
Why each of those matters, and what a freeze–thaw cycle actually costs: peptide handling and storage reference. How long a mixed vial keeps: reconstituted peptide shelf life.
What it is researched for
Research Context
What is Thymosin Alpha-1 researched for?
Below is a plain-English summary of what published research has investigated, and what it has found. These are descriptions of research activity and published results. They are not claims about what Thymosin Alpha-1 does, and nothing here is a statement that it is safe or effective for any purpose.
Toll-like receptor signalling
Thymosin Alpha-1 acts on TLR2 and TLR9 on immune cells, influencing how strongly those cells respond to pathogen-associated signals. This is the best-characterised part of its mechanism.
T-cell maturation
It was originally isolated from thymic tissue, the organ where T-cells mature, and research examines its influence on that maturation process and on the balance of T-cell subsets.
Clinical use elsewhere
Where approved, it is used alongside other treatments in hepatitis B and C and as a vaccine adjuvant, and it was studied during the COVID-19 pandemic. The most rigorous evidence sits in sepsis: a multicentre randomised controlled trial, 1 and a 2025 meta-analysis pooling eleven randomised trials across 1,927 patients. That meta-analysis found reduced 28-day mortality overall but no significant benefit within its high-quality or multicentre subgroups, and concluded the accumulated sample size is still inadequate. 2 The clinical record is unusually substantial for a peptide in this category, and unusually equivocal.

Batch COA
Verification
Does Thymosin Alpha-1 come with a COA?
Yes — every box. Each batch of Thymosin Alpha-1 is analysed by an independent third-party laboratory, and the certificate is tied to the batch number on the vial label.

Questions & answers
Questions
Thymosin Alpha-1 questions, answered
How is Thymosin Alpha-1 different from Thymosin Beta-4?
They share a name but little else. Thymosin Alpha-1 is a 28-residue N-acetylated peptide studied in immune signalling. Thymosin Beta-4 is a 43-residue actin-binding peptide studied in cytoskeletal dynamics and cell migration. Both were first isolated from the same thymic extract, which is the only real reason they share a family name.
How much does Thymosin Alpha-1 cost?
Thymosin Alpha-1 starts at $10.00 per vial, sold in boxes of 10 vials at $100.00 per box (about £74.92). 2 strengths available: 5 mg, 10 mg. There is no minimum order.
Can I buy Thymosin Alpha-1 10mg vials in the UK?
Yes. Thymosin Alpha-1 10mg comes in boxes of 10 vials at $155.71 per box ($15.57 per vial, about £116.66 per box), sent tracked to UK addresses. There is no minimum order.
How is Thymosin Alpha-1 shipped to the UK and USA?
Tracked to the UK, USA, EU and worldwide, in plain packaging, dispatched within 1–2 working days. Country-by-country estimates are on the shipping page.
