These are catalogue target specifications, not batch results. The 99%+ purity figure is the specification we buy to. The authoritative figures for any particular box are the ones printed on that box’s Certificate of Analysis, which is lot-specific.

We make no “third-party verified” claim for a batch unless the matching report is supplied with it. Ask for the current COA for the lot in stock before you order — we will send it.

Pricing

How much does SNAP-8 cost?

SNAP-8 starts at $7.47 per vial (£5.90), sold in boxes of 10 at $74.71. One box is the smallest order and there is no trade account or minimum spend. Larger volumes are negotiable.

SNAP-8 price by strength. Billed in USD; GBP shown for reference. Each box contains 10 vials.
StrengthPer vialBox of 10
10 mg$7.47 £5.90$74.71 £59.02
Important: SNAP-8 is a cosmetic ingredient. It is not a licensed medicine anywhere, has not been evaluated as one, and nothing on this page should be read as a claim that it treats anything.

Handling

How should SNAP-8 be stored and reconstituted?

Sealed vials tolerate ambient temperature in transit and keep at −20 °C beyond that. Reconstitute slowly down the vial wall, swirl rather than shake, then refrigerate at 2–8 °C and aliquot before freezing.

Research Context

What is SNAP-8 researched for?

Below is a plain-English summary of what published research has investigated, and what it has found. These are descriptions of research activity and published results. They are not claims about what SNAP-8 does, and nothing here is a statement that it is safe or effective for any purpose.

Research status A cosmetic ingredient, not a medicine. Not approved as a therapeutic in any jurisdiction and not evaluated as one. Published work is largely formulation and in vitro research rather than clinical trial data.

SNARE complex assembly

SNAP-25 is one of three proteins that assemble into the SNARE complex, the machinery that docks vesicles to a membrane before their contents are released. SNAP-8 reproduces the N-terminal end of that protein, and the research question is whether a short peptide resembling that end can compete with the full protein during assembly. The N-terminal peptide of SNAP-25 is itself an established binding site in assembly research, which is what makes that a coherent question rather than a guess. 1

Comparison with argireline

Argireline, INCI acetyl hexapeptide-8 and formerly acetyl hexapeptide-3, is the six-residue version of the same idea and is by far the more studied of the two. Its sequence is Ac-Glu-Glu-Met-Gln-Arg-Arg-NH2 and the original characterisation attributed its effect to interference with formation or stability of the SNARE complex. 2 SNAP-8 is that sequence with Ala-Asp added. The pair is frequently compared precisely because they differ only in length, which isolates what the extension changes about binding.

Formulation and stability research

Most of the published work on peptides of this class concerns delivery rather than mechanism: whether a charged, water-soluble peptide of this size remains intact in a formulation, and whether it reaches anything relevant when applied topically. A 2025 review of the hexapeptide concludes that its hydrophilic character and size limit passage through the stratum corneum, that emulsion strategies have been explored to improve delivery, and that whether the peptide reaches the neuromuscular junction at all remains uncertain. 3 Those questions are unresolved and are the main reason the cosmetic literature on this class is contested.

Applications

Where SNAP-8 is used in the laboratory

  • SNARE complex assembly and vesicle-docking studies
  • Comparative work against the shorter hexapeptide argireline (acetyl hexapeptide-3)
  • Topical formulation and peptide-stability research
  • Dermal cell culture models

Verification

Does SNAP-8 come with a COA?

Yes — every box. Each batch of SNAP-8 is analysed by Janoshik Analytical or Freedom Diagnostic, and the certificate is tied to the batch number on the vial label.

Questions

SNAP-8 questions, answered

What is SNAP-8 peptide?

An eight-residue acetylated peptide whose sequence mimics the N-terminal end of SNAP-25, one of the three proteins that form the SNARE complex. The research interest is in whether a peptide resembling that end can compete with the real protein during complex assembly. It is a cosmetic ingredient rather than a medicine, and is supplied here for laboratory research only.

How does SNAP-8 differ from argireline?

Two more residues. Argireline is acetyl hexapeptide-3, six residues of the same SNAP-25 N-terminal sequence; SNAP-8 extends that to eight. The two are routinely compared for exactly that reason, since the pair isolates what the additional length changes.

How much does SNAP-8 cost?

SNAP-8 starts at $7.47 per vial, sold in boxes of 10 vials at $74.71 per box (about £59.02). 1 strength available: 10 mg. There is no minimum order.

How is SNAP-8 shipped?

Tracked, in plain packaging, dispatched within 1–2 working days. Country-by-country estimates are on the shipping page.
